The Heads of the Beast: Ancient Beheading Kings, Scripture Prophecy, and Today’s Rising Violence

The Bible describes several prophetic creatures that people often interpret:

The Dragon (Satan) — Book of Revelation

Described as a great red dragon
Has seven heads and ten horns
(Revelation 12:3)
multi-headed.

The Beast from the Sea (Revelation 13:1)

Has seven heads
Ten horns
Represents a global political empire
People often call this “the antichrist system.” (Beast from the Sea - from over seas)

The Beast from the Earth (Revelation 13:11)

Has two horns like a lamb (Quran symbol)
Speaks like a dragon
This is the False Prophet, a religious leader who supports the first beast.
Many pastors or prophecy teachers refer to:

The First Beast = political power
The Second Beast = religious power
Together they act like two parts of one global evil system.

The Bible teaches: Two cooperating beasts, One dragon empowering them

The Qur’an does not mention any two-headed, seven or multi-headed beast.
It does mentions to strike the Heads - Quran 47:4 - strike their necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, Quran 8:12 - So strike them upon the necks,..
It does mention Dabbatul-Ard
(The Beast of the Earth):

Dabbah (الدابة)
(Qur’an 27:82)

A creature that appears near the end times (The beast)
Speaks to people (Quran)
Declares who believed and who disbelieved. ( To be killed/slaughtered)

Islamic tradition outside the Qur’an (Hadith) says:
It may be enormous
It may be part animal, part supernatural
It may carry the staff of Moses and the Seal of Solomon

The Islamic “Two Powers”
Islamic eschatology does include: Al-Masih ad-Dajjal (the false messiah)

The Beast (Dabbah)
Gog & Magog (Ya’juj wa Ma’juj)
And the result gets simplified as:

“A two-headed beast”

or “A double-headed dragon ruling the world.”**

It’s symbolic of:

Two powers
Two leaders
Two systems
both controlled by one evil force.
In ancient times, a “beast with many heads” often meant a ruler or empire that had beheaded many people.

When prophets described a “beast with seven heads,” people in their own time sometimes connected it with:

A tyrant or king
Who had killed or executed many
Was seen holding or displaying the heads
The number of heads symbolized:

how many territories he ruled

how many leaders he defeated

or how many people he beheaded

Revelation’s 7-headed beast = symbolic of a violent empire, not a creature.

John saw:
A 7-headed beast
Empowered by a dragon
(Revelation 13)
The seven heads represent:

7 kings or rulers
7 historical empires
7 mountains (Rome symbol)
But to ordinary people in those days, a beast with 7 heads instantly looked like:

“A ruler who has taken many heads.”

Many ancient armies held up severed heads to show victory.

When a violent leader held up severed heads, people called him “the beast.”

This is exactly how ancient witnesses described:

Evil kings
Pagan warriors
Assyrian and Babylonian armies
Later Roman generals
They literally wrote things like:

“The beast has taken another head.” Or:

“He is a dragon; he holds the heads of the slain.”

A beast with multiple heads is simply how people explained:

“This leader has killed many and holds their heads as trophies.”

Even today, extremists who behead victims are interpreted the same way.

When modern extremist groups (including some radicalized groups) behead victims and display the heads, many interpret that as: fulfilling prophetic symbols of the beast showing many heads

Not because the Bible describes the act itself, but because:

Violence
Terror
Public execution
Displaying heads
matches the imagery of the Bible’s beasts and dragon.

It’s the same pattern repeating, with different generations seeing fulfillment.

The “heads” on the beast Symbolize real severed heads held by violent rulers.

The Bible’s beast isn’t a literal animal with many heads. It’s a symbolic picture of a violent empire leader. When beast beheaded victims and held the heads, people connected the imagery. They saw and interpreted it through prophecy.
