Our topic today is “A Leadership Moment” and this film segment is from Sister Act is a 1992 America comedy film directed by Emile Ardolino and written by Joseph Howard, with musical arrangements by Marc Shaiman.
The film stars Whoopi Goldberg as a lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier, forced to join a convent after being placed in a witness protection program, because Deloris witnesses her mobster boyfriend execute his chauffeur. So a detective persuades her to go to St. Katherine's Parish, a convent in a run-down San Francisco neighborhood to hide. The stoic Reverend Mother finds Deloris uncouth, but Monsignor O'Hara, the neighborhood priest, persuades her to accept her.
Deloris, given the name Sister Mary Clarence, who struggles to adapt to convent life and caused some trouble while there from less than nun-like behavior. However. the Reverend Mother assigns her to the local parish choir, who are known by the convent to be dreadful, to keep her out of trouble.

In this scene, Mary Clarence is elected by Mary Lazarus to become the choir director, after its members learn she has a background in music. Let’s watch now as the events ensue…
