National History Day

Almost 3,000 middle and high school students from the 50 states, US territories and Department of Defense schools around the globe gather each year near Washington, DC, for National History Day. Students enter history research projects at the local and state levels and winners come to the nationals. Think of it as a science fair for budding historians. Supported in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Conducted and supported in partnership with America's state and territorial humanities councils.
