Hi Everyone, In this video I try out some top of the range coloured pencils by Caran D'Ache. They are absolutely gorgeous BUT very pricey. If you are a beginner then I would recommend trying a budget priced pencil make first and then if you decide coloured pencils are for you and you have gained some experience then try out a small pack of these lovely pencils, you can always save up and go bigger later. So why am I so impressed with them? The colours are very intense and basically the colour swatch on the end of the pencil is the colour you get. The pencils actually feel more expensive in their weight and the feeling of the wooden sleeve itself. The leads are soft and quite creamy. I did find the tooth of the paper shows through if it isn't entirely smooth, as I was only using a sketchbook. I will have to try using some Bristol Board which is a very smooth paper. I did use a burnishing pencil at the end to smooth all the layers together and this definitely reduced the visual impact of pencil strokes.

I hope you found this video useful and if you haven't already subscribed to my channel please consider doing so as it costs nothing and it motivates me to make more videos. Many thanks for watching. Happy Painting!
