An unsuspecting snorkeler was left stunned when he turned around to see his girlfriend holding a two-foot-long sea slug.

Staggered Dante Fabiero lets out a muffled scream after spotting partner K.C. Villoria grasping the giant slimy creature.

As the slug turns over in the Pacific Ocean off South Bay, California, USA, Dante captures its brown and orange speckled skin.

While the couple float with it, the tree-bark-like underbelly is clear before the slug swims off on Friday September 23.

Dante, from Saint Pedro, California, USA, said: "I was startled when I turned to look at K.C. and see she was holding this alien-like creature.

"I had no idea what it was and was shocked my girlfriend was so nonchalant about holding such a massive weird looking animal."
