Trim and Stability Calculation Sheet

This video is a short presentation of the Trim and Stability Calculation sheet. It explains how to obtain figures in the video and come up with forward and aft drafts once the mid-draft has been obtained. It will make it easy for the Chief Mate to compute the present draft without using the Loadicator. The Trim and Stability Calculation Sheet makes things easy if you know the basic principles of putting figures in the calculation sheet and finally coming out with the mid-draft which leads to computing the forward and aft draft. Take advantage of such a program to lessen your workload on board. This is not a shortcut method but rather a mathematical approach by Excel for shipboard use. I always recommend that you take time to learn how to compute trim and calculation sheets. Regardless of how far your knowledge and experience are, you can still learn and achieve your goal of computing the present forward and aft draft. Lastly, keep practicing using the trim and stability calculating sheet so you can have the know-how or manual knowledge of acquiring your pressing draft based on what you have on hand. By doing so, you will have self-confidence in such manual computation without using your computer or readymade available program. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.”
