A pair of paramedics have proved that laughter is the best medicine after sharing outtakes from a video they shot for International Paramedics Day.

Local medical officers Dave Tamarro and Joe Cartwright, both based in Luton, were supposed to be discussing their vital work as paramedics.

But despite being known for staying calm under pressure, the duo weren’t able to keep a straight face, dissolving into fits of laughter.

The outtakes were shared on Facebook and have already racked up 20,000 views.

The caption reads: “Annnnd action… We've lost count of the number of takes it took but it certainly made for a lot of good outtakes.” [sic]

A serious Dave, who has been in the ambulance service for 26 years, could barely get through the first take before Joe had started creasing up.

By the second take, Dave has also started cracking up and struggles to get through his introduction.

Joe can barely speak through fits of laughter and says: “I’m so sorry I can’t do it Dave!”

His colleague then slaps him jokingly on the back in frustration.

When asked if he liked being a paramedic, Joe simply said “it’s good” before rolling into more fits of laughter.

Facebook users where quick to chime in with their response.

“You guys have just cheered up my whole month,” said one user.

“This has brightened up my day! ‘I can't do it Dave!’, brilliant,” added another user.

“Absolute dream team right there,” added another.

“Has he been on the Gas?” joked one user.

“Last outtake should have been Dave with another paramedic because Joe was replaced,” commented another user.

Responding to comments on Facebook, Dave said: “Through all the challenges and heartbreak there’s always laughter to help you get through these days - so much positivity from all over the country and beyond – glad to help you smile

Joe Cartwright also responded saying: “Glad it’s brought laughter to so many.”
