So there are a ton of places you can Standup Paddle Board (SUP) in Rio. Copacabana and Ipanema beaches would be the most popular although not the most amazing. If you really want to experience Rio via SUP I'd recommend heading 20mins south to Barra. Here you'll be able to experience the river and paddle past all the luxury houses and make your way out to the mouth of the ocean and even ride some waves. None of this is possible on the main beaches hence why Barra is by far the best place to SUP.
