Three months after her baptism, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, decided to share the news with millions of fans. She had initially kept the religious ceremony a secret for reasons best known to her. Overjoyed by her newfound faith, DJ Cuppy proclaimed that surrendering to God was her most rewarding choice ever.
Precisely, on May 12, 2024, DJ Cuppy was baptized at Holy Trinity Brompton in London. Cuppy comes from a religious background, with her family being Christians. Her grandmother is a devout Catholic and prayerful woman, and her home and surroundings are filled with religious ornaments. Lady Doja Otedola even constructed a Catholic church in Epe, Lagos State, to demonstrate the depth of her faith.
As someone from Nigeria and given the Otedolas’ strong ties to religious faith, it is likely that DJ Cuppy was baptized as a child. However, despite this, celebratory messages were sent online, as many were unaware of the personal challenges the 32-year-old billionaire heiress faced.
One of the notes signed on her baptism certificate read, “Dear Cuppy, I’m proud of your journey. May God continue to use you. "
One remarkable aspect of the event was the presence of Cuppy’s entire family to support her. Her older sister, Tolani, and even her usually busy younger sister, Temi, along with her beautiful mother, Nana, and her busy billionaire father, Femi Otedola, were all in attendance. This made it evident that the occasion was very important to Cuppy.
The ceremony was filled with reminders of God’s love for Cuppy. Even her popcorn box had a comforting message, “God is Madly in love with you,” to uplift her spirits.
In July of this year, DJ Cuppy travelled to Lagos and shared a photo showing a wired cross tattoo on her hand. As you can see, this is not a traditional tattoo; instead, it looks like something engraved with a hot metal cross. Below the photo, one fan asked if she had joined a cult, and another gave her words of encouragement and said, “Please don’t be weighed down by what critics say about you. God is cooking something best for you. You shall be celebrated in Jesus’ name.” Also, the unusual tattoo is well hidden on her right arm if she chooses to do so.
