Woody Williams - Liberator of Guam, Iwo Jima Medal of Honor, Gold Star Families - Today's guest is our hero Woody Williams. At 95 years old, Woody has spent his life living up to Marine Commandant Gen Vandegrift's guidance to live up to the demands of the Medal of Honor.

On Feb 23 1945, Woody Williams repeatedly exposed himself to danger crossing an open area to engage Japanese warriors. Each time he assaulted a pillbox, concrete bunker, he'd exhaust the fuel in his flamethrower. He'd walk back across the open to refuel...then repeated it...for putting his life on the line and engaging the enemy single-handedly....he was awarded the US's highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor.

Listen to Jon Leon Guerrero's voice, especially at the end when it sounds like he's getting emotional...he was. This is what it means to people 75 years later when you liberate their people. When folks drag the US, realize for 100's of millions of people...the US is something special. Woody thank you for what you've done.

Woody's proudest moments have happened recently as he works tirelessly to support Gold Star families and honor those that gave everything in service to the nation.
