Описание к видео DIY GoPro Bino Harness Hack for Self-Filming Mobile Bow Hunts – Cheap & Lightweight

In this 7-minute video, I share a free, lightweight DIY hack to mount your GoPro to your bino harness using a head strap!

Watch me set it up, test the POV footage, and break down whether this method works for filming your mobile bow hunts.

Spoiler: It's great for behind-the-scenes shots but might not be perfect for shot placement.

Perfect for self-taught hunters chasing mastery on a budget!

Drop a comment with your favorite filming tips or better solutions.

Side note: I am using a very OLD - GoPro Hero 3 - that I bought on Facebook Marketplace for $30. The new GoPro's have much better film quality and stability. This is how to do it budget friendly.

If you're a mobile hunter like myself, you're always looking for quick and lightweight solutions on how to film your hunt. Today, I put together the GoPro mount on my bino harness. Of course, I've been looking for lots of ways to film my hunts.

One, I don't really like things on my head. Two, I'm usually not always wearing a backpack because a lot of times I'm sitting in the tree. Sometimes when you're in the tree, bringing another camera, bringing more accessories, more gear, uh, a camera arm, some of that is sometimes just not an option for me, especially if I'm going extremely lightweight. A chest mount is great, but then it prevents you from wearing a bino harness. I personally love bringing an a bino harness into the woods. I like having glass. Whether I'm hunting out west or hunting obviously in the Midwest, I want to make sure that I have access to glass, especially for those evening or morning hunts where you're not able to see so clear just with your bare eye. I also like having my rangefinder, everything kind of strapped to me. The problem with the chest mount is that you aren't able to to have the bino harness. It's of course in Tim fashion. I did this a little bit uh do-it-yourself style. And we're going to test out to see if you can actually get good angles with a GoPro mount here. What I did is I took the head strap. I ended up cutting the top and then wrapped it fully around my bino harness. As you can see, goes all the way around. And then I have two extensions to make this a little bit more mobile. All right. So, here is the GoPro mount on the bino harness up and close. Um, I took that head strap and I wrapped it all the way around. I still have access to the side pockets. And then I have this Velcro that's allowing this to kind of stay in place as well as I threaded it through these um back straps as well. So, this thing is not going anywhere. And then I was able to cut the top the helmet part of that bino harness and then basically loop it and strap it onto here. So, as you can see, this thing is light. Again, I made two different attachment points. And then just with simply just moving it and sliding it around, I can kind of change this angle. If I want it a little bit more straight on or uh pointed out on a little bit more of an open angle, I'm going to have to test that in general to kind of fine-tune it. And I can basically just put this bino harness right on. I'm just going to keep the GoPro there if uh this is a solution that works. And I'm basically throwing this on, throwing my saddle on, my fanny pack, um grabbing my backpack, and out the door I am already set up. have at least one access to film. I don't want to have the GoPro strapped straight to my mount. One, it's going to get in the way of my bow. Two is that most of our viewing we're doing from an angle. We're making sure that we're able to get actually the bow in sight as well as the animal. Having it on your head obviously solves that problem, but I don't like having that extra bulk on my head and especially not seeing where we're able to go. Today, I'm going to be testing this out. This is the first time I've ever put it to the test, but I'll show you a little bit about the FI foot footage and you can see whether this is something that might fit your fancy and might fit with your hunting setup, whether you're going mobile or just going into the woods and want to capture some of your hunts. Of course, the GoPro is not the best solution to get the best film quality, but getting something on footage, even it's if it's just for shot placement, I think is an absolute game changer. We're going to test it out. Tell me how it looks in the comments and see and tell me if you've ever done this.
