My personal observations - purely subjective!
After making so many audio tests in the past few years, mostly comparing music (bass) gear, I can freely say that these two Jazz Bass pickup sets was the similar as they can be. On several occasions when I gave myself a blind test, I was unable to hear which ones were which. Only sometimes, when it seems to me that there is some difference, it is so minimal that I can reduce it to the way of playing and not the actual difference in pickups.
So, is it worth to change Squier CV '60 Jazz Bass pickups - NO. At least no with Fender Original Jazz Bass set. It would probably work better, or at least differently, with some other pickups, but not with this one IMHO.
If you remember my video ''5 P-bass pickup comparison'' on Squier CV Pbass, my conclusion was that the Squier CV pickup is in no way inferior to much more expensive or well-known brands.
And now, what is much more important about this bass, although it is not the point of the video...there are some things that can absolutely be improved on this bass. For example fret buzzing. There are several places on the fingerboard where the strings are very noisy, even though I did everything possible with the setup (truss rod and bridge). Also, the edges of frets are a bit sharp and should be trimmed and polished.
Aside from that, the bass is not very heavy, the finish is excellent (especially the back of the neck) and the feel is overall excellent.
