From Independence Square (closed off with police!) to Amir Timur Square, Hotel Uzbekistan, and the State Museum of History, I explore the highlights — and some of the frustrations — of the capital.

Tashkent is one of Central Asia’s biggest cities with over 4 million people, but is the centre worth visiting? Join me for my first impressions of Uzbekistan’s capital city.
