A polynomial is an expression consisting of variables and coefficients, that involves only the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and non-negative integer exponents of variables.
The highest power of the variable in a polynomial is called degree of the polynomial. Hence,
A polynomial with degree1 is called linear polynomial, A polynomial with degree 2 is called quadratic polynomial, and a polynomial with degree 3 is called cubic polynomial.
A polynomial comprises of terms and if polynomial contains only one term it is called monomial, a polynomial having two terms is called binomial, and having three terms is called trinomial. If a polynomial has more than three terms we call is polynomial.
