After investigating the disappearance of Chris Regan, police questioned his co-workers and uncovered an affair between Chris and Kelly, Jason Cochran's wife. While Kelly claimed Jason was okay with the affair, detectives were suspicious of Jason's reaction. Despite lacking evidence, five months passed without any sign of Chris. It wasn't until a new district attorney looked into the case that a search warrant was granted for the Cochran's home. While nothing conclusive was found, investigators discovered a rough draft of a novel written by Jason, in which one of the victims was strikingly similar to Chris.
