We are a decidedly pro-NPR Tiny Desk Concert podcast (note: this is Tyler speaking, but I think I speak for Michael too in this instance). And one of the very best things to ever spring from the Tiny-Deskosphere is, without a doubt: Tank and The Bangas. A delightfully groovy outfit out of New Orleans, LA, this collective of artists is top drawer in terms of musical dexterity, soul, and wit. Or at least so says our good friend Shannon Molly Flynn. Tank and co's 2019 full length "Green Balloon" is the album in question today as Shannon's makes her official appeal for its inclusion in the TOGT11 pantheon. Shannon builds her case on the album's open-hearted, congregational spirit and relates how she allowed the band itself to "teach" her the album as her first experience with it after its release. A seamless and emotional experience, this album demands to be listened to! Truly special. But will it be special enough to be dubbed perfect? Will it go to 11? Only one way to find out.
