Historical High Rise with 3M Prestige 70 Spectrally Select Solar Film

NGS brings you one of the latest projects where our team installed 3M Prestige 70 solar film on the interior of all of over 30,000 sqft of glazing to reduce heat gain, improve energy efficiency and remain in compliance with the historical building preservation guidelines that require the owners to maintain the "original" look of the glazing. The Prestige 70 interior allowed the owner to remove the failing, reflective film and install the on metalized Prestige 70 which had a 50% Total solar energy rejection at 90-degree angle while allowing 70% visible light transmission on the existing 1/4" clear single-pane glazing. The prestige 70 also allowed the occupants to maintain the view by reducing interior light reflection and softening the bright light. The result was a cooler building with better day and night views of the city skylight. The Prestige also has no metals and thus does not interfere with 5G cell signal which was a huge plus for the owners.
