Описание к видео Unit 2 ex 2.4-2.6 Distributed Forces - Statics and Strength of Materials

Follow along for a discussion about distributed loads. These include both uniform and linear loads and where the resultant (or equivalent weight of the total distributed load) acts relative to the load. There are some real examples, a picture of snow (if you don't like snow, don't worry, the picture is not cold) and a few sample problems.

Also, consider checking out the Engineering Models YouTube Channel. I have no affiliation with them other than thinking their videos are amazing. Their video "Beam Statics Model - Equivalent Loads, Torques and Reactions is instructive" and helpful in better understanding distributed loads. See    • Beam Statics Model - Equivalent Loads, Tor...

Key Points
0:00 Intro
4:10 Uniform and linear load definitions
16:00 Example 2.4 Two uniform loads
25:10 Example 2.5 One uniform load and one triangular load
32:00 Example 2.6 Trapezoidal loads?

This video series was developed to correspond with CTC/MTC 224 Statics and Strength of Materials at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. It follows a workbook that was authored by Mark Mattson. This workbook is available for purchase and it is suggested that you use a copy of the workbook to actively engage with the material, take notes, and try problems. Additional course resources, like computer-based practice problems, graded feedback on hand calculations, three unit exams and a final exam are included with the course he teaches at SUNY Poly. If you would like to take this course with Mark to access these resources and earn credit, please visit https://www.sunypoly.edu.
