On Sunday, May 21, 2023 around 6:45pm, Washington DC Fire and EMS responded to a working structure fire at a two story mixed occupancy on the 5200 block of Georgia Ave NW. The fire spread to the building on the delta side (right side from street view.)

Around 6:57pm a second alarm was called. There were approximately 20 units and more than 100 personal on scene.

One firefighter was treated for non life threatening injuries.

The DC Canteen unit, operated by the Friendship Fire Association, was unavailable, but Canteen 705 from Kensington Volunteer Fire Department in Montgomery County in Maryland.
