Not all rescues happen in the on time—but this one did. Our OCN team spots an entangled seal before the fishing line has had a chance to cut into her skin. Unlike injured animals that fear humans due to pain, this young seal is unaware of the danger she’s in, making the rescue swift and stress-free.In the wild, weakened animals are the first to fall victim to predators. Once an entanglement tightens and restricts movement, a seal’s chances of survival plummet. But today, we got to change the outcome and we quickly removed the fishing line and set the seal free, hoping she’ll forget about us before she even reaches the waves.
