Peter Green was born in 1946 in London, England. He was introduced to the blues at an early age and developed an interest in the genre. He started playing guitar and soon became a part of several blues bands, including John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. It was during this time that he met Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, who would later become the rhythm section of Fleetwood Mac.
In 1967, Green formed Fleetwood Mac with Fleetwood and McVie, and the band quickly gained popularity. They released several successful albums and were known for their blues rock style. Green's playing style was characterized by his fluid, melodic solos and his use of unconventional chord progressions. He was also known for his use of a wah-wah pedal, which became a signature sound of his guitar playing.
Some of Peter Green's most well-known songs with Fleetwood Mac include "Black Magic Woman," "Albatross," and "Oh Well." He left Fleetwood Mac in 1970 due to personal and creative differences, and embarked on a solo career. During this time, he released several albums, including "The End of the Game" and "In the Skies."
In the late 1970s, Green retired from the music industry due to mental health issues. He later made a return to the music scene in the 1990s, and released several more albums. Today, he is regarded as one of the most influential blues guitarists of all time, and his music continues to inspire new generations of musicians.
Peter Green with Kolors live at Sinkkasten Arts Club in Frankfurt Germany on 12/13/1984. Peter Green had left Fleetwood Mac in 1970 and faded into obscurity due to drugs and mental illness. He resurfaced in 1979 with his 2nd solo album, In The Skies. By 1983, he was playing with Kolors. Broadcast on German FM radio, probably NDR. This concert is a rare treat and a high quality audio recording.
