The Future Fears of AI

I have looked at the following four movies dating from 1968 -2023 to showcase our fears of Ai and what we might see as the Apocalypse nightmare eventuality.

1. Colossus 1970 - about Ai taking over the world through the use of nuclear weapons. The military created the Ai then it decided to control humanity.

2. 2001 A Space Odyssey - The ai was in charge of an expedition on a space craft. I became sentient and decided to protect itself from the crew and eliminated them one by one because they plotted to turn the Ai off.

3. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Ai system took over all communications and wanted to rule the world.

4. Creator: Ai created a force of robots to rule the world. It set off a nuclear weapon in Los Angeles.

They all have in common the fact that Ai is against humanity and that humans needs to be controlled even if it means eliminating them.

These movies showcase why people are apprehensive about a future with Ai as a major part of our infrastructure.

Ever since computers were invented people have imagined the worse, yet we don't ever talk about our own penchant for destruction.
