China has donated 30,000 tons of rice to Cuba, which is grappling with a near-total food production collapse. The first batch was handed over Monday, with the full aid set to reach 1,400 Cuban communities in four batches to ease food shortages. 

Havana praised the donation as a sign of Chinese solidarity. Beyond food support, bilateral cooperation in energy and other sectors has seen swift, tangible progress. 

The island’s economic crisis was deepened by U.S. President Donald Trump’s move to halt Venezuelan oil shipments after the U.S. capture of Maduro.
