Tofino is one of the best places to see black bears, and on my very first day here bear watching in Tofino, I got to see so much wildlife, including a black bear on the rocky shore and another black bear on a sandy beach! Tofino wildlife doesn’t stop there however, because along with bears in Tofino, I got to see a few other amazing creatures, from Harbour Seals to even bald eagles! However, the Tofino bear watching opportunities were by far the highlights of this trip, with the beaches and the seaside being some of the best places to see bears in Tofino due to the tendency of the bears to come out during low tide in search of food, such as crabs, clams, and even fish. Plus, the density of black bears not just in Tofino, but the entire island of Vancouver Island, which is in fact the best place to see black bears in British Columbia, makes taking a few Tofino black bear tours to have awesome Tofino bear sightings even more worth it! Tofino wildlife viewing is already superb, with bear watching in Tofino and wildlife watching in Tofino being by far the highlight of my entire summer in 2025. There’s just so many bear sightings in Tofino to be had! Enjoy!
