In Celebration Of Violence (ICOV) is an Indie, RogueLite, RPG with Pixel Graphics and Procedural Generation by Julian Edison.
Think a 2D, overhead Dark Souls, with both the Challenging and Meaningful Combat, and the Mysterious and Grim Setting that makes Dark Souls Feel so Iconic. ICOV is Good.

The Combat is Good. You have a Strong attack, a Fast attack, a Dodge, a Sprint, and a Parry. All are useful. Landing the Parry at the right time Stuns your foe, enabling you to Pound on them or step back to catch a breath and gain some Stamina.
And Each Weapon Feels Distinct and Different, with different Swing Speeds, Attack Patterns, and Reach.

A Twin-Stick Rogue Lite RPG, ICOV controls well with either mouse + Keyboard, or with a Controller, and the controller support is good.
Meta Progression is Present and accounted for, in the form of purple shards or crystals you collect which serve as the currency of the game. You can use these to increase the Power of your current character, or save them up and spend them after Death to Lvl Up the Abilities of all future characters. It's a real risk/reward dynamic I enjoy.

Combine that Combat and Setting with Good Sound work, and a Chill and Soothing Soundtrack playing in Stark Juxtaposition against the Ultra Violence of the game, and you have an experience to be savored.
