Air Foil Generators has partnered with Watry Industries and Humtown Additives to manufacture the first full-size prototype of Air foil Generators' revolutionary new solution in wind powered generators. The prototype process starts with the careful assembly of precision 3D printed sand molds provided by Humtown. Once assembled, the molds are heated up to reduce thermal shock and off gassing. Once the molds are ready, a bottom pour ladle is used to introduce molten aluminum into the molds. Once the parts are solidified and the molds have cooled down, the sand molds are easily broken apart exposing the prototype part. Once the part is fully extracted from the mold, it can be evaluated for further development and improvement towards a final prototype or used for functional fit testing. These prototypes can now move on to the machine shop for further processing.
