Southern Quebec experienced an unprecedented weather event on Friday, August 9, as torrential rains swept across the region, setting new records for rainfall and causing widespread disruption. The heavy downpours were linked to the remnants of tropical storm Debby, which had made its way northward after initially forming in the Atlantic Ocean.
