Living with a movement disorder and experiencing depression or other mental health symptoms often go hand in hand. One type of movement disorder which affects people living with depression and bipolar disorder is Tardive dyskinesia.

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) affects more than 500,000 Americans. An estimated 1 in 4 people who take antipsychotic (neuroleptic) medications for many years develop this problem. One challenge of TD can be identifying the symptoms over telehealth. In this webinar, we speak with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Amber Hober about TD, telehealth, and the role nurse practitioners can play in identifying and treating this movement disorder.
DBSA has online support groups specifically for those living with a mood disorder AND movement conditions such as tardive dyskinesia and Parkinson's. The group will focus on coping strategies, movement conditions, depression, bipolar, and mental health. See more about our online support groups: https://www.dbsalliance.org/support/c...
