Last September 30th we left for Sikkim and on October 2nd we started our journey from Gangtok to North Sikkim. In the long time I have been traveling to different places, this is the first time I have traveled through a travel agency.
The day we left for North Sikkim the sky was crystal clear. On the way to Chungtham Dam, the weather was not too bad. This Chungtham is a place from where the road to Lacchen and Lachung splits. Gurudommar Lake towards Lachen and Yumtham and Zero Point will be found towards Lachung. Therefore, the importance of this bridge in Chungtham is very high from all sides.
Due to the collapse of this Chungtham Dam and Bridge North Sikkim faced such a big disaster. Along with this, a total of 17 bridges from Chungtham to Gangtok were destroyed and about 12 kilometers of roads were completely wiped out. Around 3400 tourists were stranded in Lachung and Lachen. After coming to the army camp every day and waiting for hours. They were the only ones who saved us. By listening carefully to everyone, trusting everyone and repeatedly appealing to everyone to maintain morale, I rediscovered the Indian Army.
Today's video is about how the Indian army rescued us after being stuck in this disaster for six days.
