Gospel: Matthew 5: 13-16
Jesus stood on the hillside and taught the crowd, “You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.” Among the listeners was a humble fisherman who carried those words home. He spoke gently to his family, shared his daily catch with the hungry, and prayed even when mocked. Slowly, his village changed. Quarrels softened, generosity grew, and hope returned to weary hearts. Like salt, his life preserved goodness; like light, his faith guided others. Seeing these works of love, the people praised God, whose light shone through an ordinary life.

Calling hearts to faith made clear.
Salt of the earth, Your truth we bear,
Light for the world through love and care.

Let our lives shine, O Lord divine,
