2022 INSPIRE Award Honoree: Suleika Jaouad

Описание к видео 2022 INSPIRE Award Honoree: Suleika Jaouad

When Suleika Jaouad was only 22, she was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and has since received two blood stem cell transplants. She’s a New York Times bestselling author, prominent speaker and creator of a popular newsletter and community project, the Isolation Journals, joined by over 120,000 people from around the world. That’s exactly why she was chosen to receive the inaugural NMDP INSPIRE Award. Suleika’s vulnerability, honesty and eloquence as a cancer patient and transplant recipient is an inspiration to patients (and their caregivers, family and friends) who are in need of a blood stem cell transplant.

Suleika was recognized with this award at our New York Gala on May 4, 2023, where funds were raised to help more patients access life-saving transplants.
