[(0:01)] Lori: We are here today at the brand new design tech remodeling showroom, and joining me is Nicole. Nicole, this space is pure inspiration for any remodeling project.

[(0:12)] Nicole Raffensperger: Thank you so much, Lori. We're really excited about this new design center. It's a place for us to bring our clients to show them who we are as a company, and give them inspiration for their future remodeling project.

[(0:24)] Lori: But, what a great addition to the design tech experience. Now, there's probably a lot of people that are considering a home remodel, but are unsure of just what's involved. And it really depends on whether you want a full remodel or a renovation. Can you explain the difference?

[(0:40)] Nicole: So, individuals use those words interchangeably. A remodeling project usually means that you are taking things down to the studs. You are changing the functionality of the space, whether it be for a bathroom, you're taking a closet and making it larger or space, or if you're taking down a wall in between a kitchen to give that open concept. But you're changing the functionality and working within the confines to that space. A renovation is more of a cosmetic update, so you may be changing cabinets or countertops. The space stays the same, you're just aesthetically making it updated.

[(1:11)] Lori: So, how do you determine whether you want to tackle a full remodel or renovation?

[(1:15)] Nicole: That's where design tech comes into play. We work with our homeowners in defining their project scope, looking at their budget, and really working with them to determine what is best for them.
