Winsor & Newton 'Windrush' French easel

Winsor & Newton 'Windrush' French easel. Uploaded again, because something went horribly wrong the first time.

I bought this online in 2012 from Ken Bromley art supplies. Did a little unboxing video, then never got around to uploading. I just dug that video out, added on the update, and here it all is.

The easel came securely packaged, with a full set of very clear instructions, which I obviously didn't read. This explains why, at the beginning, I'm playing with it like a tired child confronted with a puzzle.

With practice, you can set it up in less than one and a half minutes, ready to paint, and dismantling it takes about the same. If you're thinking of buying one of these easels, I can recommend it. You will, however, need to source a supply of wing nuts, given that they work loose and fall off. (I think W&N will replace them for free for a while, but don't quote me. Or just go on eBay and search for 'wing nuts, M5' to get a bag full of those little ones for a couple of quid, tops.)

Also, fully loaded with paint and brushes, this easel is heavy, so swap hands now and again while you're carrying it. Or you'll end up with one huge muscular arm, like a human fiddler crab.
