These gooey and cheesy homemade mozzarella sticks are a perfect appetizer for any occasion, or even a non-occasion! Enjoyed by all ages, these super cheesy cheese sticks are so easy to prepare! They need very few ingredients and very little effort. You can make these mozzarella sticks either an hour or two in advance or make a big batch a couple of days ahead and freeze them up.

I used:
200 gms block of mozzarella
1/3 cup of all purpose flour/maida
1/3 cup of cornflour
1 tsp of oregano (dried)
1 tsp of chilly flakes
1 cup of panko bread crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Water (I used little over 1/2 cup, but check for the consistency shown in the video and decide accordingly)
Oil for frying


Procedure:
- cut the mozzarella into 8 slices of around 1/4th inch thick. Approx 25 gms each.
- in a bowl add all purpose flour/maida and mix it with dried oregano, chilly flakes, salt and pepper
- add water in parts, little by little. Check for the consistency as shown in the video. It should be thick but flowy.
- in another bowl pour bread crumbs. Again use just enough to dip the sticks, you can always add more later if you need.
- take each stick individually and coat it entirely in the paste.
- once coated (with another spoon or hand) coat it in the dry bread crumbs.
- repeat this procedure twice (double breading)
Freeze for at least 30 mins. You can make a batch ahead and freeze them for up to 4-5 days.

Fry them in hot oil. Enjoy with ketchup/Mariana sauce. And don’t forget to do the cheese pull!
