The Moon Through My Telescope

I took 2 pictures of the moon, one with a telephoto lens (overexposed to show the clouds), and one with my telescope (short exposure) to capture the details of the surface.

If the conditions are just right, you can use this technique to create a high dynamic range image of the moon in the sky.

You simply need to blend the detailed lunar surface version (and scale if necessary) with the overexposed image. Make sure to use a feathered mask around the edges of the moon to avoid any harsh transitions.

Look at the details of the lunar surface - just incredible!
