Interference

When two coherent sources (same frequency / wavelength) of light superimpose, then the resultant is of bright and dark bands known as interference pattern. When the two sources of light superimpose in a certain region of space, then the total energy is redistributed in such a way that at certain point's intensity will be maximum and at other it is minimum.

Define Interference:

Interference can be defined as the variation of intensity in the region of superposition of two or more coherent sources.
