CNN host Jake Tapper suggests Biden should do a two-hour press conference

CNN host Jake Tapper has called for US President Joe Biden to undertake a two-hour press conference to test his mental acuity.

Tapper’s suggestion was made during an interview with US President Joe Biden’s campaign co-chair Chris Coons on Monday.

“I think it is easy to settle this right now by President Biden going to the Brady Press Center in the White House and doing a two-hour press conference,” he said.

“Everyone would cover it live, networks probably would cover it live, he’d answer all these questions. It’s not a crazy thing to expect a president to do.”

Tapper’s proposal comes following President Biden’s weak performance during the first presidential debate last Thursday against former US president Donald Trump.

Biden’s debate performance was so disastrous numerous Democrats, pundits and the media believed the 81-year-old should step aside as president.
