For 50 years I have wanted to visit Shanghai and finally got the chance. Here, choreographed to the music is my drone footage of the heart of the city - the Huangpu river, the Bund and futuristic Pudong. Taken over 2 days and nights, it captures the amazing city. The Shanghai authorities decided to preserve many of the Western style buildings from the early 20th Century. There are thousands of them all over the city, but none as impressive as the huge sweep of the Bund, now of course flying Chinese flags instead of British and American. Opposite, as if to say 'look this way instead' is the very impressive skyline of Pudong with the spaceship shaped Oriental Pearl Tower and China's tallest building, the Shanghai Tower.

Thanks to our taxi driver Janice for completing my drone pilot licence for China - it's not difficult, but you have to have a Chinese phone number to assist you, and it helps to read Chinese as well!

I encountered no problems at all whilst doing my flights, except that flight distance was reduced due to interference from all the electricity about - especially at night.

Note that there are 'no drone' signs on the Bund side of the river as it gets so crowded, that it would not be safe to take off and land over there, but Pudong side is much quieter, and no drone ban signs when we were there.
