Mercedes W126 Mercedes 300SD - Complete Front Seat Bottom Frame Spring Replacement - Part 1

In this video I begin the process of replacing the complete front seat bottom box spring assembly on our W126. The new units are from a later W126, which apparently has stiffer springs.

Observations: The more I looked at my old seat bottom and at the new one,
it looks like someone may have simply removed a broken spring from my old seat and not replaced it. In addition, the new seat bottom looks as though the additional springs are new. Note the grey color of the new springs. Trying to figure out what has transpired over the course of 36 years is challenging!

I purchased the replacement seat bottoms from Ebay.
I could have removed the seat back prior to removing the cover from the bottom.
