My Coast to Coast Walk 2023 - Day 7: Kirkby Stephen to Keld

After the first mile or so from Kirkby Stephen, there is a long climb all the way up to Nine Standards Rigg. Then, a steady descent down, followed by reasonably flat walking. It was lovely up by Nine Standards, I found them quite impressive, it was quite windy and cold up there though. I followed the red route and it was not too bad coming down, a few boggy patches but managed to find a route through ok. No clear path to be seen though, I basically followed the direction showing on my OS map which eventually got me down.
Ravenseat Farm was closed which was a disappointment as I was hoping to stop there for a scone and a drink. An easy walk then to Keld where I called in the campsite cafe and had the most delicious piece of cake which more than made up for missing the scone!
After dropping down from Nine Standards, it was quite warm and sunny for the rest of the day.
