Dr. Verghese Kurien, father of the White Revolution, is the Founder Chairman of the Institute of Rural Development Anand (IRMA). His birth anniversary on 26th November is celebrated every year as National Milk Day. To commemorate his memory, IRMA instituted the annual Dr. Verghese Kurien Memorial Lecture at IRMA to be held on his birth anniversary.

The Ninth Dr. Verghese Kurien Memorial Lecture was delivered virtually by Dr. Krishnamurthy V. Subramanian, Chief Economic Adviser, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He spoke on, "The Indian Banking Sector: An Opportunity to Contribute to the Economy."
