Pere Marquette Railway N-1 Class 2-8-4 "Berkshire" #1225 was built by the Lima Locomotive Works in 1941, one of 39 locomotives of the wheel arrangement that the railway had purchased for mixed traffic use in the heartlands of Michigan. The engine managed to escape the torch and later became a static display engine on the Michigan State University campus. Eventually a group of students found interest in the locomotive, and began their own efforts to restore the engine to operational condition. The Lima Berk saw her first steam since retirement in 1975. Since then, the engine has became both a preservation icon, as well as a movie star, having been used as the basis for the 2004 CGI movie "The Polar Express". Today, she continues to see service as an excursion engine for the Steam Railroading Institute, based in Owosso, Michigan, pulling passengers on seasonal trips on the Grate Lakes Central Railroad.
This video expands on the original video from the Lerro Photography charter, "The Marquette Limited", as a "Part 2" of sorts. While the original video included many exciting scenes from the charter, I also had many clips that weren't included in the original that I did want to include in a future upload. Now, please enjoy this exciting video brought to you by Blue Comet Productions and Lerro Photography!

This video was filmed on January 12th and 13th, 2019.
