Star Trek Jaylah Prosthetic Makeup Overview | Freakmo

So this makeup was far, far more intense than I thought it would be when I started it. Jaylah from Star Trek Beyond had similar silicone prosthetics, so I wanted to recreate her. I thought: how hard could a single forehead mould really be? But I forgot that it’s being blended and disguised halfway up the face… it’s a different skin tone, white is hard to build up, and when it’s such a clean makeup there’s nowhere to hide your mistakes, any blending or texture issues, any uneven paint will be like BAM I’M HERE. I ended up applying it three times before I got it right. I’ve been working on it for the past two months. It took way more materials and time than I was anticipating, but boy did I learn a lot! I’m very happy this did turn out though, and now I can move on with my liiiiiiife.
