In this interview with The New Indian Express - Kerala, Devan, the actor and politician, says that his father never watched his films in full and that he hated watching the character that his son portrayed getting killed off at the end of the film. Nevertheless, Devan says his father loved watching movies and that his father never used to express his love towards him directly. But once he saw his portrait from a movie kept inside his office room, and that made him realise his father's deep affection for him.
