Varsity Football: Seabreeze @ DeLand - 9-22-2023

For this #MemoryMonday, we have the Seabreeze Sandcrabs visiting the DeLand Bulldogs from Sept. 22nd.

DeLand's senior quarterback, TJ Moore, marveled at his team's dominant performance against Seabreeze, joking that he needed popcorn to watch their defense. DeLand won the game 50-3, with their defense keeping Seabreeze scoreless until the last minute. They scored touchdowns on seven of eight drives and caused two turnovers. The game was so lopsided that a running clock was in effect during the third and fourth quarters. DeLand coach Rick Darlington praised the team's performance.

Key plays included senior Javon Ross's two touchdowns and a 53-yard rumble by Wyatt Darlington. DeLand's offense executed effectively, with five of their seven touchdowns coming from over 10 yards. The game was also marked by an unfortunate injury to Bulldogs linebacker Victor Jones, who suffered a knee injury but remained calm, and the extent of the injury was being evaluated.

DeLand is looking forward to their next game against Spruce Creek, with the memories of last year's win against them fresh in their minds. The team showcased their strength and cohesion in this victory, highlighting their potential for a successful season.
