Comparing the 2025 Boston Harbor CF-78133 42" tradition spinner ceiling fan with the 2001 Hampton Bay Grayton. Aside from a few minor hardware differences, these units have remained almost completely unchanged over the last 25 years. The performance of the new one meets or exceeds the performance of the older one, which is even more remarkable.

The Grayton was definitively made by SMC. There has been some speculation that the Boston Harbor is now made by Air Cool, but I have yet to see any confirmation via UL listing searches. If this is the case, Air Cool must have purchased rights to the design as the units are too similar.

I am fully convinced the Boston Harbor CF-78133 is the best residential ceiling fan you can buy today in regards to value, appearance, and performance. It's an excellent product that brings classic, traditional styling to a simple, reliable design sold at a reasonable price.
