Here's my "new" Speedotron flash setup for indoor tintypes. It's an older 2403 2400 watt-second Black Line power unit with two Black Line 102 flash heads. Each head can output 2400ws, but the power pack limits me to 2400ws total between the two heads. I have the unit configured to deliver 1600ws to the key light and 800ws to the fill. The amount of light this produces is staggering! I am using 11 inch reflectors on the units at 2 feet from the subject. Even so, two pops of the flash will likely be required because of the extremely slow speed of the collodion. I hope the poor subject can take it.
