James 1:26

The Word – is all the scripture in the Bible. It is given to us by God and is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and for training in righteousness. How we respond to The Word will be evidence of the genuineness of our salvation.

"The Test of Response to The Word"

3 Attitudes that are necessary for Believers to rightly respond to God's Word:
1st is a willingness to apply the Word without Deception (vv.22b-
26)
2nd is a willingness to apply the Word without Selfishness (v. 27a)
3rd is a willingness to apply the Word without Compromise (v.27b)

There are Lost People Who Think They are Saved...

I. Applying the Word Without Deception v.26
a. An unbridled tongue is evidence of an unregenerate life.
b. Religious ceremonies, rituals, and actions are not enough.
c. Our mouth will reveal the true nature of our heart Matt 12:34b
