Christians often claim that Jesus’ death and resurrection were “according to the Scriptures” (Matthew 20, Mark 10, Luke 18, Luke 24:44–47). But when we turn to the Old Testament, we find no prophecy whatsoever about a dying and rising god saviour man Messiah.

The Hebrew Bible speaks of a Messiah protected by God, victorious, and establishing justice—not a crucified and resurrected god-man. The supposed “prophecies” used by New Testament writers are taken out of context, distorted, or borrowed from pagan myths.
