A Systematic Study of Basic Theology - Episode 1, An Introduction

Before delving further into our theological discussion I think there are a couple of things to remember. First, our attitude. Disagreements are to be expected but demeanor does matter. Any of us can be wrong about an important matter. I will do my utmost to keep myself in check. Next, are there doctrines that if believed and/or implemented can keep a person from reaching Heaven? The answer is yes and this video discusses some of the details. This implies that the stakes are high and the matter is serious. A forthright personal investigation is in order for each of us. My attitude is that the Bible trumps theology. In other words, theology should follow scripture not the other way around as it often does. Our job is to make sure our understanding is reigned in by the text no matter what our feelings, aspirations, leanings, influences, etc. might be. One day we individually, will have a conversation with the almighty God with eternity in the balance, what will that conversation be and what will be the result? Our journey is to humbly be realistic with ourselves, delve into uncomfortable viewpoints, examine them, draw our best conclusions and implement them to the best of our ability. Your interest in this discussion is an encouragement to us and we will do our best to be of help in making Heaven our home.
